Interdisciplinary Undergraduate Programme in Gender and Equality Studies

CURRICULUM STRUCTURE

The Programme's curriculum is divided into three course units:

A. Introductory courses
B. General courses
C. Special topics
.....1. Gender and Education
.....2. Law and Economics
.....3. Cultural structuring and representation of gender
.....4. Body, Gender, Science

Students may attend four (4) courses, one of which must be from Unit A.

The following combinations are possible:

• One course from the Introductory Unit and three courses from the General Courses Unit

• One course from the Introductory Unit, one from the General Courses Unit and two from the Special Topics Unit.

• One course from the Introductory Unit and three courses from the Special Topics Unit

The Certificate of Attendance is issued under the condition of fulfillment of all requirements of successful attendance and assessment in all four of the courses as specified above.

	INTERDISCIPLINARY UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMME IN GENDER AND EQUALITY STUDIES EPEAEK II/4.2 1B Between the academic years 2003-04 and 2007-08 the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki has been running a new undergraduate programme in "Gender and Equality Studies" as part of the EPEAEK II/4.2 1B project. The aim of this programme is to promote gender equality through the exploration of the social construction of gender and of the influence of gender difference and inequality in the production of knowledge and the structuring of dominant scientific paradigms. In compliance with the Programme students of any Department of Aristotle University are required to attend a cycle of four (4) courses of their own choice out of a wide-range course catalogue in order to obtain the certificate of attendance issued by the Programme along with the degree conferred by their individual Department.
